Over 200 creatures, pulled from legends across cultures and centuries, roam the map, each with its own challenge and reward. These are not generic fantasy monsters. They are the stories people once told around fires, reimagined.

The Solo & Co-op Mode expansion opens Kryptothera to a completely different experience. Team up against the world itself, coordinating captures and sharing risk, or take on the wilds solo, where every decision is yours and every mistake costs double. Same world. Same tension. A whole new way to play.

How to play.
Step 1 — Fund your expedition.
Pay your crew, maintain your gear, and brace for what the wild throws at you. Pay 1 coin to fund your turn. Reveal an event card and resolve it.
Step 2 — Track and capture.
Follow cryptid signs through hostile terrain, confront what lurks, and risk it all to capture the unknown. Use movement points to move across the map. If you encounter a cryptid, use a skill roll to attempt a capture. If you succeed, place the cryptid on your player board.
Step 3 — Upgrade your gear.
Stock up on gear and allies, but spend wisely — or risk being stranded before you reach base. Pay coins to purchase upgrades from the shop. Slot your upgrades into your player board.
Step 4 — Get back to base.
The longer you linger, the greater the risk. Cryptids can escape, be stolen, or forced into trade. Get back before it's too late. Once at your base, secure your captures, gain coins, and restore your health.
